Cooking Instructions

Looking for a simple, tasty side for your low carb or Keto diet? This easy, elegant side dish will add a pop of flavor to your meal planning! These radishes are also a snap to make and can be made any night of the week in under an hour. It’s a side that will become a go to favorite.

Radishes are a great potato substitute for the Keto diet because they are very low in carbs. 4.5 grams of radishes contain .2 grams of carbohydrates. This dish has @ 5-8 grams of carbs per serving. Remove the balsamic vinegar and swap hickory bacon seasoning with sea salt and black pepper for even less carbs.

  1. Fire up your Louisiana Grill and set the temperature to 350°F. If you’re using a gas or charcoal grill, set it up for medium heat. Place a cast iron pan on the grill grates and allow it to preheat.
  2. Once the cast iron pan has finished preheating, lay the strips of bacon in the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the bacon is crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and drain on paper towels, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  3. Add the shallots and radishes to the cast iron pan, and cook on one side, undisturbed, for 2-3 minutes, or until they begin to char slightly. Stir the vegetables and continue to cook for another 8-12 minutes, or until the radishes and shallots are soft and browned on all sides.
  4. Add in the garlic, Hickory Bacon, and balsamic vinegar. Allow the vegetables to cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant and the vinegar begins to reduce. While the vegetables finish cooking, crumble the bacon.
  5. Remove the radishes from the grill, then stir in the butter and bacon and serve immediately. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.
